“Ancient people know how”, says a sentence on the back of Gioele’s latest issue, “Homework”. But Herself’s music never sounds old: this songwriter from Palermo (formerly with Rebekah Spleen) keeps both his feet on years 2K’s ground, painting sort of lo-fi folktronics, rarely harsh, more often listener-friendly, common to artists such as Mugison, Tunng or Half Cousin. Even if the first one his songs remind to is still Sparklehorse, we think that the Eraser Thom Yorke could take care and produce him…
