Not the usual Italian songwriter, young Jacopo Gobber from Verona borrows inspiration from poppiest Barrett works, both over-real and naive, takes also care of melody and lyrics, following Bugo, Bluvertigo, Tricarico and More. Always able to reinvent himself, Gobber is awaited for a new release to submit label’s attentions.

MODOTTI

Named by famous photographer Tina, this three-piece band wears noise shirts over an arty body, the same of their EP, sold inside a yellow “office” envelope with bureaucracy old fashioned font. Partly maudit partly powerful, their obsessive math rock form becomes Italian and historical as lyrics and themes suggest.

THE VAN HOUTENS

The Van Houtens is Alan Ramon, and he’s one of the finest Britty-catchy songwriter in Italian indiepop. So eclectic and crazy, he listened for sure to a lot of Beatles and Blur, inserting a special upbeat rhythm as Jamaican Londoners could do. His song “It’s a beautiful day” was chosen by McDonald’s for its Italian tv ads: oh, this artist is still unsigned, how can it be possible?! Hurry up, you from UK!
