Tex Mex in Verona. This supercombo ruled by guitarist Mauro Marchesi and carried over his shoulder by “Joyello” Triolo joins rock, mariachi, liscio -Italian slow dancing movement-, country, surf, space-age pop, improv-jazz and progressive drones in order to cover imaginary and strongly ironic (check the titles!) soundtracks for vintage films. Asked by Nike to synchronize a skit for a tv commercial, PH worked w/ Tony Face and Lilith: a long awaited album is scheduled to come out next months…

VALENTINA DORME

Definitely, one of the historical bands for Italian indierock, alive and kicking since mid 90s. But strong enough to issue their best work in 2009: these four guys from Treviso achieve the best selling point combining the high-levelled Mario Pigozzo’s lyrics and the sharp, guitar oriented Italian rock, deeply dealing with the hometown. Interpretation is vibrating and spots a light on love’s corner, unpossessed women and sort of consciousness about their own age, as the ending titles’ song of a b/w movie.
